World MS Day was established by the International Federation of MS and the association participants in 2009. This day is generally aimed at promoting the global movement of the disease and to increase awareness of the disease globally and to unify efforts of the global movement.
\nWorld Day 2010 focuses on the theme of “Employment, Work and Illness”.
\nThe MS movement unites all people diagnosed with the disease and their loved ones from around the world. Together, all individuals, groups and organizations can strive to improve the quality of life for those affected by the disease.<\/p>\n
Why dedicate a World Day to MS?
\nMultiple sclerosis (MS) is a chronic disease and often obstructs sensation. The disease is one of the most common disabling neurological conditions among young adults in the Northern Hemisphere. There are more than 2,000,000 people with MS worldwide. The goals of World MS Day are to raise awareness and support the international movement.<\/p>\n
How can I help?
\nThis year’s World MS Day focus is on employment. You can take part in our survey on employment and MS (results will be published on May 26, 2010), you can take part in an MS activity, organize an event or make a donation.<\/p>\n
